Samarth Ramdas Biography: Samarth Swami Ramdas was born in Ram Navami 1608 at village Jamb (Ji Jalna) near Godatat. The father was Surya Jajipant Solidar Gram Kulkarni (revenue officer), the mother’s name was Ranubai.
In total, there was a Surya Passana tradition from 21 generations. The family had two sons-senior Gangadhar and junior Narayan (Samarth Ramdas). Ramdas said to Maharaj: “This kingdom is not yours or mine. This kingdom belongs to God, we are only trustees. Shivaji used to consult him from time to time.
Pilgrimage and Bharat Excursions:
After self-realization, Samarth Ramdas went on a pilgrimage. For 12 years, he visited India. They came to the Himalayas. After seeing the sacred atmosphere of the Himalayas, the nature of Ramdas Ji’s mind was originally awakened.
Now there is self-realization, God has appeared, so what is the need to imbibe this body? Such an idea came to his mind. He threw himself into the Mandakini River from 1000 feet.
But at the same time, Pribram took them up and commanded them to work dharma. He decided to pay his body for Dharma. He visited Srinagar while visiting the shrine. There he met the Sikh guru Hargovind Ji Maharaj.
Guru Hargovind Ji Maharaj guided him to be a weapon for the dharma defense. In this system, they saw the plight of the people, and their hearts were bereaved.
He made the goal of his life, along with noxiousness, to liberate the people from the atrocities of the tait rulers by establishing a self-state. They began to roam while preaching to the people against the rule.
In this endeavor, he benefited from a qualified disciple like Chhatrapati Srishivaji Maharaj, and the privilege of seeing the dream of self-establishment was achieved in his lifetime. He took samadhi at a place called Sajjangarh in Maharashtra at the stage of 73 years in 1603.
